The Importance Of Asking For Solitude

Out of all the options, I’ve become crystal clear that solitude fills my cup the most. I’m not alone in this. A lot of people value solitude, too. If you’re one of those people, and it’s been a while, take this as your reminder to find somewhere to have a sit on your own.

One tip to help:
Tell the people you live with/engage with, what it is you’re doing (rather than feel like you need to sneak it in).

“I’m taking some time to be alone with myself”
“Why?”
“Because it helps me find my centre”
“Why is that important?”
“So I can organise my thoughts. This helps me feel present and relaxed with you - instead of edgy and resentful”
“What do you need to feel supported in this?”
Insert your time/space and any other needs here.

Then go and do it. Even if it’s only 5 minutes, you’ll be glad you did.
