Setting The Intention To Slow Down In Winter

Southern Hemisphere family - a reminder for you ... it’s Winter. Don’t miss the boat on the opportunity Winter offers. Rest.

That’s right, rest. It pretty obvious to see that we’ve created a hyperactive culture. In an age of climate control, hydroponic farming and artificial light, we’ve moved away from the notion of living, eating, flowing with the seasons. It isn’t talked about enough if you ask me.

If I’m not making sense - imagine that it’s 500 years ago and our lifestyle mirrored the conditions of that era. This is important to remember, especially in the context of biology and longevity of health. We’re not wired for this level of non-stop intensity.

Winter is a time to intentionally slow down. It’s a time to rebuild Qi reserves, honour the hormonal rhythms, and move at a different pace to that which the warmer seasons inherently invoke. Let nature guide you on this.

Stay aware of the competitive hustle that pulls like an undertow, siphoning life force at an immune busting pace. Take heed. If I don’t choose to slow down, slowing down will eventually choose me. Same goes for all of us. Rest more when it’s Winter so you can express more when the warmer seasons arrive.
