Parents Make For The Worst Mentors (In Your Adult Life)
Suffering is part of our training program for becoming wise.
Parents make for the worst mentors (in your adult life).
It’s really common that I see adults turning to their parents for advice or direction.
It’s not wise, and I’ll tell you why.
Most parents struggle to see their child suffer - no matter what age.
The mentor on the other hand, understands that suffering is part of the curriculum to becoming wise.
The mentor won’t reflexively rescue or attempt to soothe the burn. They will facilitate the unfolding of your process without interfering in your growth. They will point but not carry. They will listen, ask questions & hold empathy - but refrain from the kind of pity that can push you into victimhood.
The mentor is focused on your potential and will hold you to it.
The Rhythm Health Mentorship is an offering for those who are ready to truly step into their potential, personal power and purpose in life. Learn more and join here.
