Don't Get Your Feathers Wet
Don’t get your feathers wet.
If you’re supporting people in your life - loved ones, friends, even holding humanity in your heart - don’t get your feathers wet.
Lead but don’t carry. Hold space but don’t take on. Staying within arms reach means you’re not doing other people’s work. You’re there, supporting their process but not interfering. That is more than enough.
And if you do get your feathers wet (and it happens), then make sure you dry them off. Get support for yourself. Reach out. Ask for space to be held for you.
Ask someone that can offer this, someone you trust. After all, in the words of Ram Dass, “We’re all just walking each other home”.
